DRA Group Meeting Registration Form
This Registration Form is for:
Any autonomous DRA Group that bases its meetings on the Preamble, Twelve Steps, and Twelve Traditions of Dual Recovery Anonymous. The meeting must be open to all DRA members in the community and be managed and chaired by DRA members.
Open or Closed Meetings:
OPEN: An open meeting is held for DRA members and individuals who are concerned about their personal recovery. In addition, it is also open for non-DRA members to attend. For example, an open meeting may be attended by a family member or friend of someone in DRA. An open meeting might also be attended by someone who is looking for help for a loved one or friend who is affected by a dual disorder. An open meeting also provides a good opportunity for the fellowship to carry the message to others who may not have another means of learning about DRA. In no way does this open a meeting up to other than DRA’s Primary Purpose or remove it from the guidance of DRA’s Preamble, Steps, and Traditions. The primary purpose of DRA is to help one another achieve dual recovery, prevent relapse, and carry the message of recovery to others who experience dual disorders.
CLOSED: A closed meeting is held for DRA members and individuals who are concerned about their own personal recovery. There may be members who only feel comfortable talking about their dual recovery in a group setting that is attended by other DRA members. There may also be individuals who are concerned about their confidentiality. Those individuals want their dual recovery and participation to remain a private matter. Anonymity is the right of every DRA member and must be respected at all times. Being a CLOSED DRA Meeting does NOT mean “for patients and clients only”. If an activity is for patients and clients only, it cannot be registered or advertised as a DRA Meeting. All DRA 12-Step Meetings, whether declared OPEN or CLOSED, are always open to members of DRA from the community and the Fellowship at large.

Group Names:
DRA’s 5th, 6th, and 10th Traditions and the hard won experience of older 12 Step organizations suggest that a DRA Group not be named after any person (living or deceased), nor should it imply affiliation or possible endorsement of any institution, organization, sect or religion.
Dual Recovery Anonymous is an autonomous organization with its own World Services, published literature, copyrights, trademarks, infrastructure, and Fellowship.
This form is strictly for meetings of the Dual Recovery Anonymous Fellowship. We do not list Double Trouble in Recovery, Dual Diagnosis Anonymous, or meetings of any other organization. Due to our Tradition of non-affiliation and to help limit confusion in the public at large, DRA Groups do not incorporate the words “Double Trouble” or “Dual Diagnosis” in the group’s name.
